Hollywood actor Cameron Diaz has ruled out starring in any more romantic comedies.

The actress who returned to acting for the first time in over 10 years with the Netflix spy thriller, 'Back In Action' alongside Jamie Foxx, revealed this in a recent interview.

Diaz starred in some of the biggest movies in the genre throughout the 1990s and 2000s, including My Best Friend's Wedding, There's Something About Mary, and The Holiday.

After starring in her last film, Annie in 2014, Cameron Diaz took a hiatus from acting, which she later confirmed as a retirement, in order to focus on her family.

Since 2015, Cameron Diaz has been married to husband Benji Madden. The couple have two children together.

"hard to say"

Speaking to Empire Magazine, Cameron Diaz chatted about her recent return to acting.

“I don’t know how I view it. It’s hard to say", she told the publication.

“If I say it then it becomes this thing. I reserve the right to say no to doing a movie ever again, and I reserve the right to say yes if I decide to. I’m not defining anything. I’m just open to whatever makes sense for me and my family at any given moment”.

One genre she will not be returning to is romantic comedies: “No more rom-coms, only mom-coms”.

Cameron Diaz's return sees her star alongside Jamie Foxx, as they play a retired CIA agent couple, who find themselves coming out of retirement after their cover is suddenly exposed. More on this here.
