The tracks in question, Wham!'s 'Last Christmas', and Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas For You', entered the Official Singles Chart, marking the earliest-ever entry for festive hits in the chart.
'Last Christmas' returned to the chart at number 37, while 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' has reappeared at number 40, breaking the record for the earliest appearance for a Christmas tune's entry into the chart, which was originally set by Carey herself, after 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' returned to the chart in the third week of November last year.
Both hits enjoyed some recent success, having hit number one in chart over the last few years, with that elusive Official Christmas Number 1 still evading both acts. Could this be their year?
