The 'Never Gonna Give You Up' hitmaker spoke to Colm and Lucy about many things, including the recent release of his autobiography, Never, which is on sale now.
Speaking to our presenters, Astley said that the deaths of his parents over the last few years, had prompted him to write this book, and speak about his childhood openly.
The singer hinted that being left with that early childhood void following his parent's divorce and volatile marriage, pushed him to pursue a carer in music to fill some of those gaps.
Astley is of course renowned for his 1987 hit, 'Never Gonna Give You Up', including the track's music video, as well as the very serious topic of 'Rick's hair!'.
