Covid Campaigners Fly Banner Over 'I'm A Celebrity....' Criticising Matt Hancock

This banner which measured at 35 feet, contained the message “Covid bereaved say get out of here!”, which trailed over the camp yesterday (November 15).

Former Health Secretary Hancock whose tenure lasted from 2018 to 2021, was embroiled in a political scandal, which saw him break his own social distancing rules during lockdown. Hancock's affair with aide Gina Coladangelo also became public knowlege last year, after photographs of the pair kissing were released, which led to him resigning from his role.

The Tory MP has come under fire over comments made during the first week of the show, including asking for "forgiveness" for his conduct during the pandemic.

Mathew McGregor is the chief executive of 38 Degrees, who work with Covid-19 Bereaved Families For Justice.

“No one has forgotten how Matt Hancock conducted himself during the Covid-19 pandemic, not the general public, not his campmates, and certainly not those who lost loved ones", he said.

“Our message emblazoned across the skies makes crystal clear to Matt Hancock, you should be representing the people of West Suffolk and giving Covid Bereaved Families the answers they deserve, rather than playing games for dingo dollars and plastic stars".

Matt Hancock was suspended from the Conservative Party over his participation on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here'.
