Edgar-Jones co starred alongside Mescal in the breakthrough TV series Normal People, an adaption of Sally Rooney's novel. The pair starred in the complicated love life of Irish teenagers Connell and Marianne.
Since the pair starred in the hit show, Mescal and Edgar-Jones have remained close friends, and have both been thrilled with each other's rise to fame, with Edgar-Jones saying that she is "excited" to see "what life will bring them" in the years to come.
When asked if the pair have remained close friends since filming Normal People, Daisy Edgar-Jones said: “Paul is one of my lifetime best friends".
“He’s an incredibly grounded person and I am too, I think, so it’s nice to be able to have those touchstones and those people you can laugh about it with and be light hearted with", she added. “We met when I was 20 and Paul was 22; I’m so excited to see where we’ll be at 32, 42, and what life will bring us".
Mescal and Edgar-Jones had earlier turned heads after sharing a selfie of the pair via Instagram with the caption: "Watch this space".
However, they soon revealed that this news was that they would host a marathon screening of Normal People to raise funds for charities Pieta and UNICEF.
