Sven Goran-Eriksson who managed England from 2001 to 2006 when Beckham captained, was laid to rest at Fryksande church in Torsby, which was attended by Beckham, as well as Roy Hodgson, and former partner Nancy Dell'Olio.

At the service, Bengt Berg a close friend of Eriksson's told the gathering: “You were both very ordinary and very unique – that is why you were so loved".

Nancy Dell'Olio who made her peace with Sven following his terminal cancer diagnosis, was spotted wiping away her tears, as well as embracing Beckham at the church.

After the service, a local brass band played Liverpool's anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and Jungle Book's 'Bare Necessities', as mourners lined the street.

Guests also gathered in an open air auditorium at Kollsberg homestead museum for "moments of joy", which included music and poetry, celebrating Sven Goran-Eriksson's life.

"It was the most incredible, beautiful ceremony… so typical of the Eriksson family and Sven himself to bring people from all parts of the world", Roy Hodgson told Sky Sports.
