He won for his role in "The Father". Anthony was unable to travel for the ceremony and fast asleep given the time difference between L.A. and Wales where he lives but he posted a video online this morning thanking the Academy.
There was a bit of disappointment though as fans wanted the "Best Actor" award to go posthumously to Chadwick Boseman who sadly lost his battle with colon cancer in December at the very young age of 43. Chadwick had starred in "Black Panther" and was nominated for "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom".
