Dolly Parton Announces Broadway Musical

The film which will be titled: Hello, I'm Dolly, named after the singer's first studio album release in 1967. 

Opening the CMA Fest in Nashville on Thursday (June 6), Parton revealed to fans that she is "finally developing" this Broadway show which is to hit the stage in 2026. 

The musical is different from the West End jukebox musical, Here You Come Again, which will feature Parton's songs. It is currently on tour in England. 

"Very excited about that, so you'll get to know all my life up to now, and it's not a jukebox musical", the Country music legend said. 

She also added that she has been writing, the music, script and lyrics for "several years", adding: "I tried for years, how to do my life story and make it make sense". 

The singer also said in a press release:  "I've written many original songs for the show and included all your favourites in it as well. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll clap, you'll stomp, it truly is a Grand Ol' Opera. Pun and fun intended. Don't miss it". 

Elsewhere, Dolly Parton also announced two more ventures, including Dolly Wines, a wine range available from July, including sparkling wines, a rose and a Chardonnay.

The singer also confirmed plans to open a hotel and museum in Nashville, The Songteller Hotel.  Alongside this hotel will be a museum featuring clothing items, artefacts from her six decade career. The Songteller is named after Parton's 2020 autobiography. 

"I've always wanted a hotel here in Nashville and a museum here", Parton said.
