The music icon took to the stage to close out the final show at the festival, and his final UK show from his 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' Tour in the process. Elton's performance which saw him pay tribute to late singer George Michael on what would have been the late Wham singer's 60th birthday, saw one of the biggest crowds ever seen on the Pyramid Stage.
According to reports, Elton John's performance was watched by 7.3 million people across the BBC. This is three times what which saw Paul McCartney's set at the venue last year.
Elton John's show has become the most watched set on television in Glastonbury's history.
Other headliners Guns N'Roses and Arctic Monkeys attracted a viewership of 1million and 1.5 million respectively.
