The ceremony has been postponed, due to the ongoing strike by Hollywood actors and writers, which appears to be showing no sign of finding a resolution anytime soon.

The awards ceremony, which is hailed television version of the Oscar's, is the most significant entertainment event to be postponed by the strike, the first Hollywood strike in almost 60 years.

The strike which began over 100 days ago, aims to ensure guarantees that artificial intelligence will not take the jobs and income of actors or writers, along with other demands including better pay.

Last month saw the Writers Guild of America joined on the picket line by far larger Screen Actors Guild, including American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).

Following reports of an Emmy Awards postponement over recent weeks, the ceremony will be delayed until January, with a Fox spokesperson, and a the Television Academy releasing this statement.

"We are pleased to announce that the 75th Emmy Awards will now air on Monday, January 15, 2024", a spokesperson said.

The Emmy Awards will now take place a week after the Golden Globes, and just 24 hours on from the Critics Choice Awards. The Oscars will take place on 10 March 2024.
