Formula One champion Max Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet have announced they are expecting their first child.
Verstappen and Piquet confirmed that they are expecting their child, sharing a black and white photo of Kelly's growing bump. The photo shows Red Bull driver Verstappen putting his hand on Kelly's stomach and holding her hand. They are wearing white tops and jeans.
Adding a caption, Verstappen wrote: "Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle". You can check out this photo here.
Sharing her own post, Kelly also had a message for anyone struggling to conceive.
"I understand how these announcements can be challenging for those who are longing for a child", she said. "While such news is often a joyous occasion, it can also evoke feelings of sadness, frustration, or longing in those who are struggling with this. If that’s you, I’m sending all my love, my deepest hugs and magic your way".
Kelly Piquet, whose father is former racing driver Nelson Piquet, shares five year old daughter Penelope with F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, who was replaced by Verstappen at Red Bull in 2016.
Max Verstappen is also the son of motorsport's Jos Verstappen.
