Blind Date is set to become the latest TV show to make a return to our screens, following on from Gladiators on BBC, and ITV show Wheel Of Fortune.
Speaking in a recent interview, Dan Baldwin, TV producer and managing director for Hungary Bear Media who were the brains behind Gladiators, says he hopes for a return of Blind Date.
"You always look at old shows that are no longer on television. You are always coming up with new ways of bringing back a show", Baldwin said. "There is nothing wrong with that because those shows were great for a reason".
Baldwin who is married to former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby also added, "As well as coming up with new ideas, we’ve always got one eye on what could come back and what could be a hit like Gladiators is".
"Another one that you’d like to see back, Blind Date, are we ready for that? What a Saturday night that was", he stated. "I’m thinking Blind Date with Claudia Winkleman on BBC1, how about it?".
Blind Date was originally hosted by the late Cilla Black in 1985, and ran until 2003. It went onto be revived in 2017 by Channel 5, hosted by the late Paul O'Grady, before ending after four series in 2019.
The producer also revealed that a celebrity version of Gladiators would take place, following the reboot's success.
"There is nail biting drama in this show and the underdog coming through", he said.
