The list which was released by Rolling Stone Magazine, includes household names such as Whitney Houston, Bob Dylan, Beyoncé, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Al Green, Adele among others.
Among the names featuring in the 181-200 section of the list includes Kelly Clarkson, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Burna Boy, Billie Eilish, and Karen O.
However, it was more of a case of who did not make the list that got people's tongues wagging, with fans taking to social media to vent their shock and disbelief that the list did not include My Heart Will Go On singer Celine Dion.
“Celine Dion doesn’t need no damn Rolling Stone to tell her she’s one of the best vocalists in the world, she makes her own lists", one fan wrote.
Another fan added, “They better change the name of that list to ‘Ranking The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time After The Great Céline Dion".
Another fan also wrote, “Celine Dion doesn’t need no damn Rolling Stone to tell her she’s one of the best vocalists in the world, she makes her own lists".
In their rebuttle, Rolling Stone did tweet this in response, “Before you start scrolling (and commenting), keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices List. Talent is impressive; genius is transcendent".
