Fast and Furious star Paul Walker was killed in a high-speed single-vehicle collision in Santa Clarita, California on 30 November 2013, suffering traumatic and thermal injuries.
Walker who was aged 40 when he died, was a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT. The driver of the car, Roger Rodas, Walker's friend and financial advisor, also died from the crash. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time, Paul Walker was in the middle of filming, the 7th instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise, Furious 7, alongside co star Vin Diesel.
The film was eventually released in 2015, after some rewriting, and the inclusion of Walkers' brothers Caleb and Cody, in order to portray the role of Walker's character Brian O'Conner.
The film's soundtrack, 'See You Again' was released as a tribute to Walker.
Marking 10 years since his tragic passing, social media especially X/Twitter was inundated with messages, paying tribute to Paul Walker.
The official X/Twitter account for the late actor shared a black and white image of Walker, with the following message, "10 years later we strive to honor your legacy… Love and miss you, Paul".
Another fan of the franchise added, “10 years ago we lost Paul Walker. But we’ll still see you again buddy thanks for being a role model for us car people we still can’t believe it’s been 10 years. You’ll always be there and you’ll always be our brother. This guy brought us joy to the car community".
Another heartfelt message read, “10 years today since you’re gone. This still hurts, Paul. You left millions of fans behind you. We will never forget you. Thank you for all the memories and to have held our childhood".
The latest instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise, 'Fast X', will arrive in May.
