Calling the venue the "greatest place to play", Brooks has said that so much work has been done in the stadium, making sure everybody has a good seat, and that concert goers at the back also feel like Brooks is talking to them.

The country music star also added that he has been waiting on these Croke Park gigs, for what feels like "forever".

Brooks also stated that he put a lot of work into getting fit for these shows, which involve a lot of running, and that he wanted to be as fit for these shows as possible.  He also insisted that he is the same weight now, as he was 25 years ago, when he played at the stadium last.

Starting at 7-30pm tonight, the show is to honour a 10-30pm curfew, and Brooks hopes to "squeeze in as much as we can" in this three hour window.

Garth Brooks have also encouraged music fans to use public transport for these gigs, insisting that he wants these show to be good for the neighbourhood, as well as the audience. He also urged attendees to be kind to each other.

Brooks was also questioned by a reporter regarding the launch of the Basic Income Scheme for Arts, paying 2,000 artists €325 a week. The singer feels that any investment in art is fantastic. He also added that art reflects us as human beings.

He stated, "I've been waiting for this my whole life - tomorrow night I'm gonna stop waiting".
