Tributes have been paid to actor Paul Danan, who passed away aged 46.
Danan who was known for playing Sol Patrick on Channel Four soap, Hollyoaks in the late 1990s and early 2000s, also went onto appear on celebrity versions of Big Brother and Love Island.
His death was confirmed with this statement which was shared by his management.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old", the statement read. "Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many".
"His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him", they added. "During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul's family, friends, and colleagues. No further comments will be made at this time".
Paul Danan had been due to appear in at Warrington Magistrates Court for a plea hearing on Thursday, on charges of possession of several bags of cocaine and a "quantity" of cannabis, according to court documents.
He was also accused of driving while under the influence of drugs in Warrington, Cheshire on October 2 last year.
After news of his death was confirmed, people paid tribute to Paul Danan on social media.
Former East Enders star Michael Greco called Danan a "genuine and caring man", alongside a photo of the actor on his Instagram story.
"We shared so many laughs, chats, and unforgettable moments. My heart goes out to his loved ones right now. Rest easy, brother".
Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace also paid tribute to Danan.
"Paul Danan... a friend of mine... I'm so shocked and heartbroken... my darling man... I will cherish all our happy memories. RIP u beautiful amazing talented human. I'm so very sorry", she said.
This post also included comments from Hollyoaks' Chelsee Healy, who added: "This is so sad," while former Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson commented, "Such a lovely, lovely guy".
"We grew up together I'm devastated", she said. "My world's just stood still. I actually can't believe my best friend has gone. From our days at school and through all the years, we've shared so many memories. I am devastated. My love and condolences to his family and his little boy. Paul, may you rest in peace".
