The track which features on the singer's EP, Unheard, marks a maiden number one for Hozier, who had previously peaked at number two with Take Me To Church in 2014. With more than 1.3 million Irish streams so far, Too Sweet has also been certified Platinum in Ireland.
Too Sweet also saw Hozier score his first UK number one single in the process, as the single continues its global domination, having already hit number one in the Australian, Canadian, and New Zealand Spotify Top 50 charts. It also resides at number two in the Global Spotify Top 50 Chart.
Reacting to his feat of reaching number one on his own soil, Hozier had this message for Irish fans.
“Thank you so so much for this Irish #1. It's very unexpected and I'm thrilled and honored. Thank you for all the support. I'm so glad you're enjoying the song, it's a joy. I hope to see you soon. Thank you so much", the singer said.
