IFTA winning film, The Outrun, starring Saoirse Ronan, is coming to Netflix.

The film, which is an adaption of Amy Liptrot's memoir from 2015.

It follows Saoirse's character, Rona, who returns to Orkney Islands in Scotland, having spend a decade in London, and is battling alcohol addiction, with the movie exploring her difficult journey to recovery.

Rona has a difficult relationship with her parents, with her mother escaping to religion, while her father's bipolar condition also leads to a distance between the pair.

The Outrun will will move between present day, with flashbacks to Rona's partying days in London, as the viewers try to work out how she managed to get herself into this situation.

While she may have missed out on an Oscars nomination for her role in the film, Saoirse Ronan did garner Best Actress at the IFTAs over Valentine's weekend, as well as earn a BAFTAs nod for this role.

The trailer, which you can check out below, will show Rona walking along a grey and stormy sea, which stands in sharp contrast to her days getting inebriated in London, as she battles her addiction, and attending AA meetings.

Check this out below.

The Outrun was also produced by Saoirse Ronan, alongside her husband Jack Lowden, who she married last July. More on this here.
