Taking place on Christmas Eve, Irish singer May will be joined on stage by several well-known, as well as aspiring artists for a special, which was filmed in front of a live audience at Dublin's Pepper Canister Church, which included Simon Community and volunteers.
This Christmas Special will see Imelda May joined by artists including Glen Hansard, Loah, Hawke The Band, Jack Lukeman, as well as performances from festive favourites including Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and The Wexford Carol.
The special will also include poetic recitations, which will see Dubliners' legend John Sheahan, who performs a self-written poem, capturing the magic of Christmas at home. Sheahan will also be joined on stage by his daughter Ceoladh, along with Cormac de Barra, and Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta.
Singer Sharon Corr will also recite Patrick Kavanagh's A Christmas Childhood.
On the festive special itself, Imeld May said, “We had the most beautiful night you can imagine and captured it all on film so we could share the moment with others. Serendipity was alive and well in abundance".
"Everyone who was present felt their souls rise and minds calm in the stunning Pepper Cannister Church in Dublin one winters evening. Each artist brought their own divine wonder and brilliance", she added.
“I wanted to show to the world a true Irish Christmas of all styles, generations and huge talent celebrated through song, story, poetry, family (including my own Dad) and friendship".
On top of this, Imelda May has confirmed that she will take to the stage at Dublin's Iveagh Gardens this Summer.
