Following reports of a recent increase in the sale and use of illegal fireworks, Limerick City's Rockhall Veterinary Clinic have showed the damage and levels of anxiety that fireworks can bring on animals.
We know how dangerous this can be if they get into the wrong hands, but they are just as dangerous to pets and humans alike.
A lot of pets end up running away or suffering severe injuries due to the anxiety caused by the loud noises that come with the fireworks.
Rockhall have now shared the "terrifying effects" that these fireworks can have on pets.

The clinic also wrote this, "Poor Bella came to Limerick Night Vets with bruising inside her mouth and torn pads on her paws".
"These injuries are all due to anxious behaviour caused by the sound Fireworks. The bruising came from chewing the window frames in her house and the other night she was so afraid of the fireworks that she jumped out a second-story window and tore the pads off her paws when she landed".
"This was very sore for her as you can imagine but the LNV team has them all bandaged up and she is on the road to recovery".
"Please be aware of the terrifying effects fireworks can have on our furry friends".
