The foundation was set up by Friends star Matthew Perry, who passed away in October aged 54.

Matthew Perry had always spoken candidly about his own personal struggles with addiction throughout his life. He set up this foundation to help people who have been battling such issues.

The foundation is funded, sponsored and maintained by the charity National Philanthropic Trust, who aim to support philanthropy.

"would have been grateful for the love"

Spreading the word via her Instagram story, Jennifer Aniston urged people to support Perry’s charity.

“For #GivingTuesday please join me and Matty’s family in supporting his foundation – which is working to help those suffering with addiction”, the actress wrote.

She also added, “He would have been grateful for the love”.

Jennifer Aniston starred as Rachel Green in the US sitcom alongside Perry's character Chandler Bing, which also starred Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc and Lisa Kudrow.

Sharing a statement online, the Matthew Perry Foundation also explained how it was “the realisation of Matthew’s enduring commitment to helping others struggling with the disease of addiction”.

The foundation also shared a quote from Perry, which has hone viral since the actor’s death.

“When I die, I don’t want ‘Friends’ to be the first thing that’s mentioned – I want helping others to be the first thing that’s mentioned. And I’m going to live the rest of my life proving that”, it read.

“Addiction is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone. But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down”.

Reacting to the news regarding his death, Jennifer Aniston paid a moving tribute to her "little brother" Mathew Perry via social media. See that below.
