The singer posted his first Instagram story since his arrest for driving while intoxicated in Long Island, New York on June 18. Timberlake was later charged and released from custody.

On Instagram, Timberlake shared a clip of himself while performing at Madison Square Garden, New York, as part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. The video shows the Sexy Back singer holding a t shirt aloft promoting his tour.

The t shirt also featured the blue and orange colours of the famous New York Knicks basketball team, with the post including the caption: "Had to do it @nyknicks". Holding the T-shirt to the camera, Timberlake sang: "We had to do it!".

The tour was announced back in April.

Last week, Timberlake returned to his tour following his arrest, taking in a show in Chicago.

"I know sometimes I'm hard to love but you keep on loving me and I love you right back", he told the audience.

Following his arrest for the offence, Justin Timberlake later appeared in court, before being released from custody.

His next court date is set for July 26, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office have confirmed. This is the same night that Timberlake has been fixed to perform in Krakow, Poland as part of his tour.

In a statement, Timberlake's legal team revealed that the singer refused a breathalyser before being arrested.

"The charge was a single count because he refused the breath test. Mr. Timberlake was also charged with two other court citations, running a stop sign and not travelling in the correct traffic lane", they said.
