Minogue made these comments after it was confirmed that Neighbours would cease production in June after they were unable to find a broadcaster, or find alternative funding.
Confirming this news via Twitter, Neighbours wrote, "We are so sorry to say that after nearly 37 years and almost 9,000 episodes broadcast we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in the summer", they said. "Following the loss of our key broadcast partner in the UK and despite an extensive search for alternative funding, we simply have no option but to rest the show".
"To our amazing, loyal fans, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the team. We thank you for all your messages and support and promise to end the show on an incredible high. From here on, we are celebrating Neighbours".
The show helped to launch the careers of several household names including Minogue's ex partner Jason Donovan, Margot Robbie and of course Kylie who joined the show in 1986 as Charlene Robinson.
Taking to Twitter, the singer paid tribute the show writing, "I’ll be forever grateful for the experience & the friends I made on @neighbours".
"We had no idea how big the show would become and how passionately viewers would take it to heart", she added. "Pure love! I can still hear Madge calling … CHARLENE!!!!".
Actor Travis Burns who played Tyler Brennan on the show also paid tribute, calling this an "end of an era".
"Super blessed to be a part of the show that created so many jobs for so many people", he wrote.
The show's future had been in jeopardy when Channel Five confirmed it had stopped airing the soap last month. They said that dropping the show would allow for funding for original UK dramas. It had been shown on BBC One until 2008, when it moved to Channel Five.
Neighbours was launched on Austrailia's Seven network in 1985. It was axed from the channel, before Ten network picked it up a year later, before becoming an international hit.
It had also been broadcasted on Austrailian channel 10 Peach since 2011, however they relied on the UK for funding.
