Lily Allen has spoken about "accepting pain", and hinted about getting a new tattoo, amid her recent split from husband David Harbour.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the couple had separated after four years of marriage, after tying the knot in September 2020, having been dating since 2019 after meeting on the dating app, Raya.

Following this, Lily Allen had revealed that she had spent time at a treatment centre, as she worked on coming to terms with the "emotional turmoil" over her recent split. The singer credited the centre with helping her amid her recent troubles.

“I did lots of group therapy and some individual therapy. I needed some time and space away from everything. I did a lot of shadow work, lots of work about my inner child stuff", the singer said. “It wasn’t easy by any stretch and it’s a journey. It’s a lifelong journey of healing. It’s not a quick fix, but I’ve started meditating. I meditate every day now, at least two or three times a day. That’s really helping me", she said. More on this here.

"accepting pain"

In the same interview which saw her speak to podcast co-host Miquita Oliver, Lily Allen has hinted that she may even get a new tattoo which will highlight the message of "accepting pain", with the inspiration coming from her latest read which was on "self-compassion".

“It really stood out for me and I might even get it as a tattoo, it was ‘suffering x pain = resistance", Allen said. “You have to sit with the pain and confront the pain and accept the pain".

The singer added: “Love the pain, caress the pain, you got to be like ‘This is painful’ it’s OK for things to be painful and for you to feel pain, bat it away. If you’re batting it away, you’re resisting it and that is the cause of your actual suffering".
