The popular Netflix hit has seen its third series divided into two parts, with the opening part released on May 16, going on to garner over 41 million views in the first four days.
Season 3 is a pivotal moment for Derry Girls star Coughlan, as it focuses on the love story between her character Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, who is played by Luke Newton.
This edition of the show, shows Penelope thinking that now is a good time to find a husband, but lacking confidence, her attempts have ended in failure thus far.
For three seasons now, she has been working as an anonymous local gossip spreader, Lady Whistleblown.
Colin Bridgerton on the other hand, has just returned from his Summer travels, and is upset to find out that Penelope has been giving him the cold shoulder.
In an attempt to regain her friendship, he offers to be Penelope's mentor as she seeks to find a husband. However, the lessons start to go so well, that he is left in turmoil over whether or not his feelings for Penelope could possibly be more than just simply friendship.
In a further complication, Penelope has yet to mend fences with her former friend Eloise Bridgerton, who just happens to be Colin's sister. Penelope's growing presence in the town makes it difficult to keep her Lady Whitsleblown alter-ego a secret.
Tonight's drop of season 3 will see four episodes hit Netflix, named: “Tick Tock”, “Romancing Mister Bridgerton”, “Joining of Hands”, and “Into the Light”.
