The cast of Malcolm in the Middle, including Bryan Cranston, Frankie Muniz, and Jane Kaczmarek are to reunite for a new four-episode run of the show for Disney+.
The show which first launched in 2000, and ran for seven seasons, was praised for looking at normal life from the perspective of a extraordinarily intelligent teenager Malcolm, played by Frankie Muniz.
Upcoming episodes are to see Malcolm and his daughter embroiled in their family's chaos when parents Hal played by Bryan Cranston and Lois played by Jane Kaczmarek, demand that they attend their 40th wedding anniversary.
In a video message alongside this announcement, Frankie Muniz expresses his excitement at the show's return.
"I have been waiting for this moment for 18 years. Let's find out where Malcolm and his family are now", Muniz said. Check out this announcement here.
This special has once again been curated by the show's original creator Linwood Boomer.
On this, Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, released this statement.
"With Linwood Boomer and the creative team at the helm, these new episodes will have all the laughs, pranks, and mayhem fans loved — along with a few surprises that remind us why this show is so timeless", Davis said.
Originally ending in 2006, Malcolm In The Middle won seven Emmy Awards, including the accolade for best writing for a comedy series, and currently streams on Disney+.
An official release date for this four-episode special has yet to be announced.
