This was confirmed by both co-creator and producer Judy Craymer, and Ol Parker director of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, who said that a third instalment of the movie is on its way.
On this third movie, ABBA-inspired musical films' star Christine Baranksi said that she knows what the plot is going to entail.
"I was in London with Judy Craymer at our favourite watering hole, she is planning Mamma Mia 3,” Baranski stated. “She gave me the narrative plotline of how it’s going to happen. That’s all I can say!".
“But, it’s not like, 'Oh, I wish it could happen!'” she stated “Judy Craymer makes things happen".
Praising Craymer as a director, Baranski also added: “She made number two happen, and it was a phenomenal hit. I wouldn’t put it past Judy Craymer to get everybody back together".
The latest edition of Mamma Mia is also set to feature Meryl Streep, who said that she would be keen to return for another film a few months earlier.
She said, “I don’t know how they’re going to do it. They have an idea. I haven’t heard it yet but it’s in [my diary] and I’m going to hear about it pretty soon. Of course I want to do it. I think folks love it".
