New York City's medical examiner has ruled that actress Michelle Trachtenberg died following complications from diabetes.
The Gossip Girl star was found dead after emergency services found her unresponsive at her luxury apartment in Manhattan, New York back in February.
In a statement, the medical examiner confirmed Trachtenberg's cause of death following a review of laboratory tests results. while no foul play was suspected, while the examiner's office had previously said her death was "undetermined".
The actress' family had objected to a post-mortem examination, which was honoured by the examiner's office, on the grounds that there was no evidence of criminality.
Following her death, a number of co stars paid tribute to Michelle Trachtenberg, including fellow Gossip Girl star, Blake Lively, who said that she "cared deeply about her work, she was proud to be a part of this community and industry as painful as it could be sometimes, she was fiercely loyal to her friends and brave for those she loved, she was big and bold and distinctly herself".
Lively also wrote: "The world lost a deeply sensitive and good person in Michelle. May her work and her huge heart be remembered by those who were lucky enough to experience her fire". More on this here.
