A new follow up to HBO's 2019 documentary on Michael Jackson, Leaving Neverland, is to be released next month.
The documentary, which was produced by HBO, centred around the allegations of sexual assault on two minors, which were made against Michael Jackson. It looked at the testimonies of his alleged victims, Wade Robson and James Safechuck. Both had claimed that that they were sexually assaulted by Michael Jackson when they were children.
Following this will be another documentary, titled Surviving Michael Jackson, which will arrive on March 13, directed by Dan Reed.
A synopsis has said that this follow up documentary will look at the “difficult journey and its many twists, turns and setbacks" for the pair, and the subsequent backlash they received over the years.
Surviving Michael Jackson, is to air on Channel Four, with HBO not involved in the latest production, following a lawsuit which was brought against them in 2019 by Jackson's Estate, where they claimed that the initial documentary violated a 27 year old non-disparagement clause from a concert film from the late singer's Dangerous World Tour from 1992.
