However speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Cage spoke about his Goth lifestyle and his ownership of a pet crow named Hoogan.
"I like the goth element. I am a goth", he declared.
It would even appear that Hoogan is quite sharp when it comes to his tongue, with Cage claiming that it has taken to insulting him. “He has taken to calling me names…it’s comical, at least, it is to me", he said.
He added, "When I leave the room, he’ll say, ‘Bye,’ and then go, ‘Ass.’ Crows are very intelligent. And I like their appearance, the Edgar Allan Poe aspect".
Nicolas Cage is preparing to star in an upcoming horror film Renfield. He also revealed that watching James Wan's Malignant last year, provided him with the inspiration to star in the genre.
“The key, I think, is movement", he stated. “I saw a movie called Malignant and the director James Wan and the actress [Annabelle Wallis] created this choreography that was terrifying. So I’m hoping to do something like that where Dracula can either glide or move like Sadako in Ringu".
