There was no joy for Kneecap, as the rap trio missed out on a nomination for an Oscar.
The group missed out on being nominated in the categories for Best International Feature Film for their self-titled film, and Best Original Song.
Kneecap, a biopic about the Belfast rap trio of the same name, missed out on an Oscar nod, despite being widely tipped for a nomination at the Academy Awards, and having already received six Bafta award nominations.
Their Oscar's snub was met with howls of dismay from dozens of fans who had gathered to watch the ceremony at Belfast's Madden's Bar, while members of the group watched it via a live link in London.
Reacting to the news, Kneecap wrote on social media: "F*** the Oscars. Free Palestine". See that post here.
In other news, controversial Donald Trump biopic, The Apprentice, has received several Oscar nominations, including, Best Actor for Sebastian Stan, and Best Supporting Actor for Jeremy Strong.
The Apprentice, which was produced by Irish production company, Tailored Films, showcases a young Donald Trump and his rise to power, which involves selling his soul to agree a deal with right wing lawyer and political fixer, Roy Cohn.
Reacting to the news regarding their nominations, Ruth Treacy and Julianne Forde of Tailored Films had this to say.
"It's a huge honour to have our film recognised by our peers in the film industry across the world with multiple nominations at the Oscars, BAFTAs, and IFTAs", they said. "It's a massive testament to the strength of the Irish film industry and the talent available here that the film is receiving acclaim not only from audiences and critics, but from the wider filmmaking industry".
"We're delighted to be able to be a part of the film and to spread the word about the wealth of talent available in Ireland to international production partners".
Leading this year's Oscar nominations is Emilia Perez, with the Netflix musical crime comedy earning 13 nods, a record for a non-English language film.
Other films who received a myriad of Oscar nominations includes the musical Wicked, which received ten nominations, as did the post-war epic, The Brutalist.
Elsewhere, the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, starring Timotheé Chalamet, received eight nominations, as did Vatican thriller, Conclave.
