Taking to social media, the Hearts Skips A Beat singer wrote, "Been trying my best to avoid having it done but the op was needed and it went well".

"I’m recovering in hospital but it means I’m having to cancel all my summer shows this year whilst I focus on my rehab".

"Refunds will all be available from your point of purchase and please keep an eye out for any emails from your ticketing agent over the next few days", Murs continued. "I’m so bloody sorry but my focus now is on recovering and I’ll keep you all updated on how I’m getting on! Stay cheeky catch you soon".

This surgery comes a year and a half after Murs had an accident on stage, which led to a fragment of his bone sticking out the back of his knee.

Several people took to social media to share supportive messages for the singer.

One fan wrote, "Speedy Recovery Olly".

"Get rested lad, all the best!", James Bay wrote. "Ahh man I feel your pain, you must be gutted! Was looking forward to you hitting up wales. But atleast when you are back on the road it’ll be with a top class knee, not that dodgy old one".

Another user added "enjoy looking like stone cold Steve Austin, rest up buddy, let me know when you want to jump on fortnite lol".

"Get well soon ma brother, health comes first!", Chunkz posted.
