The wildfires which have engulfed the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, has forced over 70,000 people to evacuate their homes, with the area covered in a thick cloud of smoke and ash.
Thousands of firefighters have been working to contain the blaze, which has burnt almost 16,000 acres, and seven others across southern California, threatening to destroy more homes and lives as strong winds continue to take hold.
According to reports, a new fire broke out in the Hollywood Hills, which has threatened to cause significant damage to The Hollywood Bowl and The Walk of Fame.
The Pacific Palisades are a popular residential area for celebrities, with several household names affected by the blaze.
Such celebrities include US socialite Paris Hilton, who said that she is "heartbroken beyond words" as her Malibu home was "burnt to the ground on live TV", as she watched on with her daughter London and son Phoenix, whom she shares with husband Carter Reum.
Taking to Instagram, Hilton wrote: "This home was where we built so many precious memories. It's where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London".
"While the loss is overwhelming, I'm holding onto gratitude that my family and pets are safe".
Other people affected include actor Billy Crystal, after he and his wife Janice announced the devastating news that their home of almost half a century, was destroyed in the fires.
"Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing", they said in a statement. "Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can't be taken away".
"We are heartbroken, of course, but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this".
They also described the Pacific Palisades as a "resilient community of amazing people", adding: "It is our home".
Meanwhile, Diane Warren revealed that her beach home of 30 years, was also destroyed in the wildfire, but added that her animals thankfully survived the blaze.
As previously reported, other celebrities forced to evacuate also include actors Mark Hamill, James Wood and Heidi Montag. More on this here.
