The Normal People star was named at top spot, from a list which included actors Charlie Murphy, Sarah Bolger, Robert Sheehan, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, as well as musicians Nicky Byrne, Ronan Keating and Hozier.
This ranking was conducted by Tonybet, a sports betting and casino site, who ran five images of 50 Irish celebrities via an artificial intelligence beauty calculator to determine which one receives the highest score.
“Attractive celebrities often enjoy greater popularity and influence, impacting trends in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Identifying the most and least attractive Irish celebrities shed light on current trends and societal preferences", a spokesperson for Tonybet said of their findings.
“Exploring attractiveness can reveal underlying psychological and social dynamics, such as biases, stereotypes, and the impact of media representation on self-esteem and body image. It can also highlight how attractiveness affects career opportunities and public perception".
This list named Maynooth native Mescal as the country's most attractive celebrity, with an average score of 9.01 out of 10.
Irish actress Charlie Murphy, best known for her roles in Happy Valley and Love/Hate, was named in second place, with an average score of 8.69 out of 10. In America and The Spiderwick Chronicles star Sarah Bolger was ranked in third place, with a score of 8.65.
Fourth place went to WWE wrestler Becky Lynch, with a score of 8.64, while Irish singer Hozier rounded off the list, with an average score of 8.63.
Other names featuring on the list further afield include Barry Keoghan, Andrew Scott, Brendan O'Carroll and Cillian Murphy.
