According to Byrne, the Cillian Murphy-led BBC drama series will conclude this April with an 81-minute long episode before making it’s big move to the silver screen.

In an interview with Radio Times, Byrne said: "It's such a 'Peaky' thing to do for the last hurrah. It's the 10:22 news for one night only.”

He went on to suggest that the finale episode would fee; “very different” from anything ‘Peaky Blinders’ had done before, and hopes it will serve as a set-up to the series' planned future film.

He said: "It feels very, very different to the rest of the season. It feels very, very different to anything we've done before. It's very epic in scope. It feels like a film – it's a kind of dry run for the feature film."

Details of who will be starring in the upcoming remain a secret, likely to be determined by the series’ two remaining episodes.

In an interview with Radio Times, the show’s creator Steven Knight said that the film would start shooting sometime in 2023. Knight added that the film would serve as an: "Untold story that happened in the Second World War, which the Peakys are going to be involved in.”

‘Peaky Blinders’ airs on BBC One every Sunday evening, with the finale episode set to air on April 3 before it hits Netflix on June 10.
