This sad news was confirmed by Ron's grandson Paul Pember who revealed that the actor passed away earlier this week.
"'The sadness now is the happiness then. That’s the deal. 11.04.1934 - 08.03.2022 #ronpember #grandad", Paul wrote.
Pember appeared as Tenants Association head Baz in a 1983 episode of British sitcom Only Fools And Horses called Homesick. See below.
The sitcom paid tribute to Pember by reposting Paul's Tweet. Adding, "We are saddened to hear of the news of the death of Ron Pember who played Baz in the series 3 episode, Homesick", they wrote. "Our thoughts and warm wishes go to his family and friends".

Pember retired from acting in 1992 after suffering a stroke, going on to live in Sounthend-On-Sea.
Red Dwarf paid their own tribute to Pember, writing "RIP Ron Pember. A terrific character actor, stage director and dramatist who made a memorable appearance in Series II’s Better Than Life".
