The release of the new Netflix documentary from Meghan Markle, has been postponed due to the Los Angeles wildfires.

This documentary, Love, Meghan, was produced by Britain's Duchess of Sussex, and will see Markle share tips on cooking, gardening, and hosting. The eight-part series will now premiere on March 4, having been originally scheduled for January 15.

These plans to premiere the series were scuppered, as the wildfires continue to take hold across Los Angeles with more than 130,000 people forced to evacuate their homes, and at least 16 people killed.

Several celebrities have also lost their homes in these fires, including Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Mark Hamill and Eugene Levy among others. More on this here.

"focus on the needs of those impacted"

In a statement, Meghan Markle confirmed that the release of her documentary series would be delayed due to the wildfires.

"I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California", she said.

Last Friday, Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry embraced residents and spoke to emergency crews at a meal distribution site for people affected by these tragic events.

They live in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, 90 miles away from Los Angeles. According to reports, Harry and Meghan have donated clothing, children's items and other essential items to those affected by these fires.

Markle's documentary has been described in the following manner.

"Produced by Meghan, With Love, Meghan blends practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old", a synopsis said. "Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected".

"She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same".
