This series will be directed by Emmy award winning comedy drama Glow creators, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. They have also written, Nurse Jackie, Orange is the New Black and Weeds.
Roar will also be co-produced by Kidman's production company Blossom Films and Ahern's Greenlight Go Productions in a deal with the streaming service, Apple TV +.
It will also include eight episodes lasting 30 minutes each. It is based on Ahern's 30 short stories.
According to Deadline, they will also include, Allison Brie, Cynthia Erivo and Merritt Wever.
Each of these stories marks an epiphany or moment for an unnamed woman. The book describes it as an exploration into the “sometimes comic, always moving look at the guilt, joys, humiliation and triumphs that define the modern woman’s experience, including the private moments when she feels the need to roar”.
It will follow two of Cecilia Ahern's novels, Where Rainbows End and PS I Love You. It will also include the award winning Samantha Who?
Ahern herself has won an Irish Book award in 2014 for her novel, The Year I Met You.
