Rod Stewart says he plans to bring the curtain down on "large-scale world tours" when this current run of shows is finished.

The Maggie May singer will perform a run of shows next year, which will see him head over to North American in February and March, before Las Vegas residencies in March, May and June, as well as European tour in April and May.

Stewart will then return to North America in a tour for July and August. See more on this here.

Taking to Instagram, Stewart has confirmed that these major shows will be the last set of major gigs he will perform in his career, while insisting that he has no plans to retire.

“This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire", the Scottish singer said.

He continued: “I love what I do, and I do what I love. I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79".

“I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not..". See the post in full here.

Earlier this Summer, Rod Stewart reflected on turning 80 next year, admitting that his days could be "numbered". More on this from Ireland's Classic Hits Radio here.
