Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have announced a new business venture in Wales.
The Hollywood stars have been named co-owners of beer company, Wrexham Lagar Beer Company Ltd, alongside the Roberts family. The beer company is the oldest lager brewery which remains in existence in Britain, having been brewing since 1882.
This latest business venture was formed by Wrexham's majority owner The RR McReynolds Company and the Allyn Family in New York.
According to the brewery's website, the company also boasts the only lager available from the infamous voyage from the Titanic.
This investment was made by Red Dragon Ventures, in order to "drive growth in the Wrexham community and Wrexham AFC", while Wrexham Lager saying that the deal is to "scale up" its infrastructure and international production, distribution and marketing.
Speaking about this investment, James Wright, CEO of the Wrexham Lager Beer Company, said it was a "brand with great heritage".
"To have Rob and Ryan onboard as we embark on international expansion is huge for us", he said.
This latest investment comes three years after Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney had purchased Welsh football club Wrexham AFC.
Following this, the club has achieve huge success on the pitch, including back to back league promotions in the last two seasons, which has seen them embark on an upward curve from the National League to League 1.
Confirming this latest venture, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney explained that they had "learned a lot" as co-owners of Wrexham AFC.
"The connection between club and community, the intricacies of the offsides rule and the occasional need for beer - especially after finance meetings", the co-owners said. "Wrexham Lager has a 140-year-old recipe and a storied history and we're excited to help write its next chapter".
It was also confirmed that the Roberts family, who have owned the company since 2011, will maintain an active role within the business.
