The singer took to Instagram to announce the news “Im Not The Only One feat. the truly incomparable @aliciakeys. Coming Friday August 2nd.”
“I am so honoured to have such an incredible talent and a beautiful soul join me on this track to celebrate a decade of ‘In The Lonely Hour’. Released with the digital versions of ‘In The Lonely Hour’ (10th Anniversary Edition) this Friday.”
When ‘In The Lonely Hour’ released in 2014 it became the best selling debut album of the decade. The LP included the now iconic songs ‘Stay With Me’, ‘Money on my Mind’ and ‘Lay Me Down’. The album sold over one million copies throughout the UK and US.
Throughout 2024, Smith has been travelling around the world celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album. One stop included a party thrown in New York's iconic gay bar Julius. Here Smith would take to the stage with Alicia Keys to sing a soulful duet of ‘I'm Not The Only One’.
Alicia Keys herself commented underneath Smith's announcement saying “This is amazing. Can you believe we never did this before? Except for right now? That’s crazy!”
The special 10th anniversary edition of ‘In The Lonely Hour’ is set to release on the 2nd of August.
Smith released their fourth full-length studio album ‘Gloria’ in 2023 which debuted at number one in the UK and Ireland and sold over a million units worldwide.
‘Unholy’ featuring Kim Petras, became the most successful single off the album winning a Grammy for best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 65th Annual Grammy awards.
