On top of this, 'Squid Game' have also been nominated for the top drama at the upcoming televised red carpet event next week (September 12), becoming the first non-English language series to earn a nomination. Lead actor and other awards will be handed out at this event.

"I'm so very happy", the actor told the audience while accepting the award.

Elsewhere, Stranger Things also earned five Creative Arts awards, including music supervision. The show's inclusion of Kate Bush's 1985 hit 'Running Up That Hill' saw the tune hit the charts.
