While Stephen Graham deserves every bit of praise that is coming his way for his performance in the recent Netflix hit, Adolescence, he is not the only member of his family to feature in the much talked about series.
Adolescence, looks at a 13 year old boy, Jamie, who is arrested for murdering his classmate, Katie. The show has shone a light on key issues including the rise in online misogyny, as well as the rise in incel culture, and controversial social media influencers like Andrew Tate.
Despite only hitting our screens a few weeks ago, Adolescence has quickly become one of the most talked about shows, with several high profile politicians both in Ireland and the UK calling for it to be shown to secondary school students.
The series sees Stephen Graham play, Eddie, the heartbroken father of Jamie. However, it turns out that the actor's real life wife, Hannah Walters also plays a part in the series.
In the series, Hannah is spotted trying to comfort Jade, who was a school friend of Katie's. Following a visit to the school from the police, Jade attacks another pupil, Ryan on the playground during a fire drill.
Afterwards in an empty classroom, Walters' character, Mrs Bailey tries to comfort Jade. However, the school girl only becomes more upset, and storms out of the class room in a hugely upsetting scene, where viewers learn that Jade does not see eye to eye with her mother, and has nowhere to go, as she mourns the loss of her best friend.
Hannah Walters and her husband Stephen Graham have worked together before, including movies This Is England, as well as Time, Boiling Point, and A Thousand Blows. The couple established a company called Matriarch Production back in 2020.
In other news, Stephen Graham recently said that he was left in tears after receiving a message from Bruce Springsteen, who praised Graham for his performance in Deliver Me From Nowhere. More on this here.
