The popstar had taken to social media endorsing Harris as president ahead of November's election, which will see Harris go toe to toe with fellow candidate Donald Trump.
Calling Harris a "steady-handed, gifted leader", Swift stated that “we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos”. Swift also said Harris “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them”.
The singer also called on voters to conduct their own research, and make an informed decision on what candidate they should vote for ahead of the election. She also included a link to the registration site, Vote.gov.
Following this, CNN correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister and CNN's Senior White House producer Betsy Klein, have said that almost half a million people have visited the Vote.gov link directly shared from Swift's Instagram account.
According to the latest figures, almost 30,000 voters have used that link each day.
Tom Bonier who is TargetSmart's senior advisor, has said that Swift's post supporting Harris has directly led to a "400 per cent or 500 per cent increase" in voter registration, which has led to 9,000 or 10,000 registrations per hour.
Bonier also stated that this spike in votes is "unlike anything" he has ever seen before.
