The new ballad is the second single released from their upcoming album, 'Thoughts & Observations', due to drop this September.
The track features the vocals of Gabrielle Aplin, a long time friend and collaborator of the band. She sings a melodic duet with frontman Danny O'Reilly, on this bittersweet love song, that the band has said “echoes of Peter Gabriel's 'Don’t Give Up' with Kate Bush.”
The upcoming album, Thoughts & Observations, will be the bands eighth studio album, and is said to be a far more melodic record than previous releases. It is “at times anthemic, at times delicate, but always authentic and full of emotion.”
“Every album we make is with a view to improving our live show,” explains lead singer Danny O’Reilly. “We still feel like we have something to say.”
Thoughts & Observations is currently set to release on the 27th of September.
The band's previous three albums all reached the number one spot in the Irish charts. The band's debut album Heroes Or Ghosts spent a total of 74 weeks in the Irish album charts and was described by Hot Press as "walking a soulful line between Jeff Buckley and the Libertines."
Designer Luke Sean created the cut and paste style cover art for Thoughts & Observations, taking inspiration from renowned graphic designer Annie Atkins.
