Singer Tunde Baiyewu and keyboardist Paul Tucker first met when they were both working in bars. They recorded a demo of Tucker's song "Ocean Drive" which was picked up by Polydor Records, getting them a 6 month development deal.
Some of the record label executives were a bit worried about spending money on the group in filming their music videos abroad but they proved to be a massive success. Their single "Lifted" spent almost a year in the music charts.
They were due to play at the Mouth of the Tyne Music Festival on the 9th of July but have gone their separate ways leaving the promoter without a headline act. Keane and Sophie Ellis-Bexter are due to headline on the 8th and 10th of July.
