Earlier this week, two suspects were arrested including a 19 year old male, whose house was raised by police, who found chemicals and substances made for explosives. It is understood that the male was Austrian with North Macedonian roots.
It was also confirmed that a 17 year old with Turkish and Croatian roots was also arrested this week, with both suspects becoming radicalised online, and pledging allegiance to the Islamic State leader terrorist organisation ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).
Now, Austrian authorities have confirmed that at third suspect has been arrested following this terrorist plot. It is understood that he had been in contact with the 19 year old.
Police have also questioned a 15 year old in connection with this plot, but has not been arrested.
The plot itself included plans to stab music fans and plant a bomb, with United Nations spokesperson Alessandra Vellucci saying on Friday that it was a "good demonstration that radicalisation of people through the use of social media is really a concern".
