Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of singer Liam Payne, while the house of a third has been raided, according to reports.
Former One Direction member Liam Payne tragically died in Argentina last month, after he fell from a third-floor balcony at Buenos Aires' CasaSur Palermo Hotel. He was 31 years old.
The prosecutor's office in Argentina has since revealed that Payne died from multiple traumas, as well as internal and external bleeding. Preliminary toxicology reports had later indicated that Payne had pink cocaine and several other substances in his system at the time of his fatal fall.
The hotel room was also raided, with police saying that they were searching for further evidence, particularly documentation, film records, and video, which could help ascertain what had happened in the final hours of Payne's life.
Hotel staff were also interviewed, alongside technical and medical professionals who worked on the case.
It has now been confirmed that two arrests were made in connection with Payne's death. The two people arrested are hotel workers, according to reports.
It has also been revealed that an Argentinian businessman who spent time with Payne while he was in the country, also had his home raided.
The man in question had falsely presented himself as Payne's manager, has been accused by police of abandonment of a person. If found guilty, he could face three to six years in prison.
Several media sources have also claimed that this businessman failed to inform Payne's family over the singer's drug issues. It was also reported that investigators tried to contact this person on the day of Payne's death, but to no avail.
This businessman later spoke to police through his solicitor the following day.
Nine locations were raided, with eight relating to the tree people who are facing charges. The ninth location was the room where a woman was found, who was supposedly with Payne hours before his death.
Investigators are also reportedly looking into a Dove soapbox that was found in Liam Payne's hotel room.
