David Beckham has insisted that the prospect of turning 50 "doesn't bother me one bit".

The former England captain, who reaches this milestone in May, spoke about this while he was interviewed by Men's Health UK, where he outlined how he stays in shape, as well as how he feels about reaching the half century.

"Doesn’t bother me one bit. People are asking me about it gently, like it should be a big issue", Beckham said. "It’s not something that I’m worried about, as long as I’m fit and healthy and my family are healthy, that’s all I care about. I’m really happy".

"I’ve got the business and an amazing family. My kids are all working hard, and they’ve all got passions, and that’s what’s important to me".

"painful"

David Beckham, has been married to his wife Victoria since 1999, to whom he shares three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, and daughter, Harper.

Elsewhere in the interview, Beckham has admitted that he will be "painful" when they all eventually leave home.

"We’ve gone from having four in the house to one (Harper)," he said. "What I would give to have that back and be able to walk in, moaning to them about it (wet towels on bedroom floors). That said, my boys are pretty good. They’ll always ask me to the pub when they go with their mates".

On his fitness regime, David Beckham also revealed that Victoria has joined him on his workouts with his trainer Bobby Rich, having tried to get her involved "for years".

The former footballer has said that they both "give each other plenty of grief", and Victoria is "not great at taking a rest" or listening to Rich. Beckham whose career included playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG, AC Milan, and LA Galaxy, added that he "still" suffers with issues, after breaking his wrist in South Africa.

He said, "I was told that it was a dissolvable screw. It turns out it wasn’t, so I’ve still got it".

David Beckham is a part owner of Inter Miami, as well as holding commercial and brand deals with a number of companies. He also put on his own Netflix documentary, Beckham, which explored his own career and personal life.

Back in January, David and Victoria also announced plans to release a docuseries, focusing on Victoria's own career, spanning 30 years. More on this here.
