Gaga sits at the piano on a round stage wearing a blue dress with a red pussy-bow and tights, while Mars matches with a blue and red vintage style suit, electric guitar in hand. They sing to each other earnestly, cigarette in mouth, as the camera circles the pair.
However, somewhat juxtaposed from the video's theme, the single is more of a soulful ballad than a country song.
Sweeping verses build up into a big waltzing chorus fit with electric guitar solos and powerful piano chords.
Lady Gaga teased the duet on Instagram this Thursday, saying she planned on releasing the song before her eventual 7th album. It has been 4 years since the ‘Poker Face’ singers last album ‘Chromatica’.
Mars’ last release was under the duo Silk Sonic, with US rapper Anderson .Paak.
